UCLA in Los Angeles is the Longhorns third opponent. Then comes Oklahoma Sooners.
Right now the talk-show guys tell us that the O-Line and the D-Lines in Austin are
maybe the 7th best in the Big-12. They say that Oklahoma is loaded for bear this year and the Horns
will struggle to win more than 8 games.
One ESPN guy said Oklahoma should score more than 42 points vs Texas and win by 3 TD's.
Maybe there is more talent in Norman but the 5th Street Guru has noticed a complete change in the Horn's
attitude. The OC and the DC are new and full of aggresiveness - look for a surprise in all line play from Texas right from the start.
IF Texas can hold on to the ball and the linebackers can play up to their capability then look for a big change about the second week of the season. If Oklahoma has at least three turnovers then the Horns will be smiling at the end of the game. Last year the Sooners won 28 to 21. The reason was turnovers.
Look for the Sooners to be favored by at least 14 points next Fall. The team that I say will beat Texas is Okla. STATE. But Texas will play the Sooners a close game.

You must be Catholic.

The Longhorn definitely need to rebuild their lines on both sides of the ball. Until they get proven quality players in those areas, it won't matter how good the RB's. QB's Linebackers or secondary is.

Mack Brown seems to do pretty well with recruiting some of the best players in Texas... just can't seem to do much with 'em after he gets 'em to UT.

I think Texas will do better than expected this season.

By the way Exporter, OU is the 5th game for UT. 1-Rice 2-BYU 3-UCLA 4-Iowa State 5-Oklahoma

I don't think exporter is off the mark here. he isn't drinking from the haka juice or whatever you guys call it in euless...j/k

the fact is that the experts are going to talk about the talent. But history has shown us that with UT/OU....anything can happen. Last year is a prime example. OU, a BCS caliber team, could have lost that game to texas if not for so many turnovers. I thought OU would blow the horns out then. so you never know. either way I expect a rebound season for the horns. Last year they had a reality check. They were very fortunate to replace vince with colt and even that change took a few years before the horns were bcs caliber. It's tough to be great every year. you aren't going to keep replacing guys like vince young and colt mccoy every time.

aside from that...yes the Oline and Dline has to get better. Texas has to get back to a strong running game that still has the ability to sling the ball as well.

well the horns were simply overmatched by the sooners. no shame in losing, but it is shameful to lose like that. I think mack brown needs to pick a QB and roll with it. enough of the tricks and gimmicks....just line up and play football with one of the QB's. they both look pretty good if one goes down to injury.

yea pick one or the other i feel they are both very capable and play ball, it is a shame to lose like that its a simple game it becomes a battle of will and who can impose theirs on the other. oh well file it away and get ready for OK State. alot of ball left the season is not a loss. HOOK 'EM HORNS!!!

well this last game just got by us, it was closer than the score indicated. the announcers Sean Mcdon? and the other commented on the crowd in the stands that they were not excited and there was no electricity in the stadium for it to be the Longhorns vs. a conference opponent that is ranked #6, and i have to agree, there was not much enthusiasim, come on people, this is our Longhorns representing our state and conference, that can be better than the SEC and the great game of football. lets get it together, HOOK 'EM HORNS!!!

Super B, You asked if I was Catholic, What was it that prompted you to say that?
You must be a very smart guy.
