what a joke. Tindol was a leader he came into Early and rewrote the script, he had a system that the kids bought into and he had a great coaching staff who actually knew what they were doing and he led the Early teams to the playoffs. I tell you what if a kid ever EVER acted like that one kid did for Early (#6) that Friday night in Clyde coach Luker would have made that kid drop all his pads and go sit his a$s in the stands. What a disrespectful kid, you have to realize you can't get ejected from all of the games. You are representing a school and everyone inside of a town. I have seen a few games this season and Friday night against Clyde was absolutely the worst team I have seen in Early since the '03 '04 teams. I mean how unmotivated, emotionless, and careless can one team play. No offense to the band but they were actually more aggressive than the football team with their drama filled half time show. (fun show BTW). No offense to Clyde but they are a subpar team and not any better than that, so you rank Early how you want. Next question that still lingers through out the community...why this Bowden guy? you have over 150+ applicants and you pick this guy who Early use to beat like a drum and has a 3-348 record before coming to Early (ok that stat may be off a little). But seriously what did yall even work on in practice last week? the Pistol formation where you run the counter over and over and you get blasted for a 3 yard loss? or the little Pistol screen pass that gained 0-1 yard every time?...btw was there even a defense out there? On the other note of you saying Bowden is teaching these kids something...what how to continuously get 15 yard personal fouls? ha. a complete embarrassment. with this final note...it sure is sad Early had a few groups of kids come through and really provide hope to this town, actually played with class, and were fun to watch (they actually scored and played defense), and just in the last two years Early is back to another 50 years of no playoffs...man what a sad day to be from Early..

Yes. Tindol was a drunk and was fortunate enough to have good athletes at a time when Early was actually up in erollment and playing in 2a. There have been several teams from Early that could have made deep runs in the playoffs if they weren't in the district with Abilene Wylie and several other 3a teams.

Coach Luker was a good coach and wouldn't put up with any nonsense but his boss was like an ostrich who would put his head in the sand when dissention arose.

This years class at Early has some talent, but it's a shame that only one or two players can disrupt a whole teams chemistry with their selfish play. I think Coach Bowden is doing a good job and if you, "Go4two", are so fed up and disgruntled, then cross the river and jump on Bwds bandwagon. Or sit by wp1178, he was a Tindol worshipper too. Bowdens here and it's the job of the community to support him, I do. Just like I did Tindol when he was here. I didn't like what he did, but I sure as heck didn't get on a message board and bash him while he was here.

Go Early!!

So are your stating that all 33 kids out there were playing in your words "unmotivated, emotionless and careless" as a team. Where do you come up with that? I was there!!! I watched several kids almost break their necks trying to get yardage. Yes they got blown out, yes they were not prepared, but to say those boys didn't care, where have you been, you only been to a couple of games. So you only support the teams when they are winning? Fair Weather Fan!!! Why don't you step up and support those boys instead of criticize them. "Worst team you've seen since 03" WOW!!!! Shame ON YOU!!!

always thought Coach Tindol had health issues, many times his diabetes would kick in and I know a couple of times his medication was not right and it would effect him.

At least Bowden is dealing with the situation and not ignoring it like the Tindol era would have. What Bowden is fighting is that these kids are still Tindol's kids and they got away with everything under the sun. Now a little discipline and the kids don't know how to react.

WP, you talk about witch hunts, what about the well being of the kids? What about the law being broken? Sounds just like what Tindol was doing, just someone has the guts to stand against. I think you are still a little bitter that someone had the guts to get your crooked hand out of the cookie jar, if you know what I mean!?!?!

I hate to hear that the football program is still dealing with this mess, but atleast something is being done about it. It's real easy to get caught up in wins and losses and forget that these are 16 and 17 year old kids we're talking about. Hopefully this will serve as a wake up call, and these young men will make some changes in their lives.

if indeed these problems do or did exist more than likely it is or was observed behavior of their upbringing parents, guardians, or peers. It is not the fault of Coach Tindol or Coach Bowden they cannot see everything they are not God, but if they did notice it, they would not sit idle they would do something about it. So for those of you that did or do have a problem with Coach Tindol or Coach Bowden STOP with the bashing on the boards this is a place were you come together to support your team. I dont know what problem you have with yourself or why you are so unhappy with your life, but that is your problem, you fix it!!! dont come on here bashing the team or coaches and that goes for the previous coach and staff as well, otherwise make yourself be known, and not by your screen name. thats right i am calling you out. HOOK 'EM HORNS!!!

I am very proud of the 30 kids on Varsity and the other 30+ on the JV who are not involved in substance abuse. We have a coach who is standing up and saying you get caught your out of the program. Coaches are not with these kids 24 hrs a day, you can't hold them responsible. I believe Coach Bowden is doing a really good job, I believe he has had to deal with some tough problems within the team for the last two years, that most coaches seldom ever deal with, or usually ignore it. I believe that we will see dramatic improvement in the next couple of years as Bowdens era continues. Coach Bowden needs our support, our kids need our support. Take a moment call and let Coach Bowden know you support him, and when you see a player let him know your behind them. Lets be a positive influence on these kids.

hoping the kids at early have a good rest of the season. from what i understand it has been a pretty young team, but i think coach bowden is a good person that will have the best interests of the kids in mind whenever he makes a decision. as far as the bashing of my dad, coach tindol, goes, it is all pretty laughable, but will you please tone down the slandering a little? i like to stop by and check our how things go once in a while, and it sucks to see that kind of crap. good luck next week early!
