Kind of hard to do when the weight room is locked up tight. My son went to work out this morning as he was told the weight room would be open from 8-10 AM only to find it locked up.

I hate to hear that the football program is still dealing with this mess, but atleast something is being done about it. It's real easy to get caught up in wins and losses and forget that these are 16 and 17 year old kids we're talking about. Hopefully this will serve as a wake up call, and these young men will make some changes in their lives.

The weight room may not have been unlocked yesterday morning, but I know the coaches were up at the school about that time. I know this because they had track practice at 8. I'm sure if your son would have been at track practice and asked the coaches to unlock the weight room following the workout that they would have done so.

I talked to my son and you're right about that, son doesn't do any running events. He still should have walked over and asked them to unlock it. my apologies.

The mindset starts at home. Parents need to be on the side of the coaches and not get their panties in a wad every time their kid gets in trouble. The word talent has nothing to do with football, work your butts off in the weightroom and put all your effort and heart into the off season and two a days and winners will emerge. Early needs more guts, my freshman year we went to the semis and the team never put the individual above the team, if you slacked, you got called out. period. I agree coaching needs to step up, they have gotten too complacent, I'm not calling for cleaning house, but a change of mindset will do the program good. The leadership needs to be there again. Let's go Early, it's time to take back your pride and perform on the field like you are capable of.
