Gilmer and Carthage would be beaten by Buford and Cocoa, but I'd like to see those games.
Gilmer and Carthage should make an East Texas classic, where they bring in small OOS powers like Bolles, Madison County, Cocoa, Buford, Salmen etc..........

I agree in all parts. After watching Cocoa (I'll see Buford tomorrow) Carthage and Gilmer would struggle. A classic like that would be good to watch nonetheless.Buford would win IMO.

I'd favor Buford, but not by much.
Cocoa with a QB, different story. (2009)

Ive seen them both on different years. I will take Cocoa. Cocoa is battle tested and probably easily makes it to state again.
Several teams in Texas ranked among the elite -- another new one on the horizon possibly -- FM Marcus beat Arlington Lamar 59-0 last night.
Has outscored 3 opponents 172-33. Tonights big games: Allen/Longview & Aledo/Lake Travis.
DeSoto/Cedar Hill & Arl. Bowie/Dallas Skyline are definitely worth watching.

According to the DMN it said the score was 27-7. Are you sure on the 59-0 score?

Nonetheless, Martin, Marcus and Desoto are on the rise. We'll see if they have staying power or have just peaked early.

So far FM Marcus has played Waxahachie, Grapevine and Lamar. A 4A team, and two mediocre 5A teams. On the rise? I guess we'll see when they play the likes of Allen, Plano, PESH. Flower Mound and Hebron,

MAXPREPS has it 59-0 -- that's where I saw the score. They're not always accurate. Sometimes they even have games and scores duplicated -- example; showing a 3-0 team as being 4-0.According to the DMN it said the score was 27-7. Are you sure on the 59-0 score?

Because I never noticed any team running the ball out of the end zone and I saw alot of penalties for blocking below the waist.
