Good info D. South, thanks. Not being from the area, I often get Central, NW, BTW, and Norland mixed up one way or another.
Since the other board has been swarmed by Bosco doofs and fools like DLSPops

Whatever you do gentlemen, please do not mention this board over on the Rivals cesspool. As some have said it's impossible to have a lively, spirited football debate there without multiple posters resorting to name calling. And yes, please reinstate cajun.

Good info D. South, thanks. Not being from the area, I often get Central, NW, BTW, and Norland mixed up one way or another.
Pretty easy to mix up, as they're each located 2-5 miles from the other. Here's a quick lesson.
Central - wears green, and they're the Rockets (they look like the NY Jets). NEVER could get passed MNW until a few years ago. 1st title was the 2010 team. Willis McGahee played there (so did other NFL players like Najeh Davenport, Darnell Jenkins, Bruce Armstrong, Dwight Drane, and 5-6 more).
Norland - wears purple, they're the Vikings (look like Minnesota). They were completly off the radar since about 2001 when they won their last title. Got back on the scene in 2010 when they reached state (lost to Tampa Jefferson), but were favored to win state (and did) as everyone knew Duke Johnson (signed with Miami this month) was coming back after the loss to Jefferson in 10' which was only his junior year. Dwayne Bowe went there, as did Antonio Brown (1,000 yard WR for the Steelers), and Mike McKenzie.
Booker T. - Orange and black, they're the Tornadoes. They were a high school from 1926-1967, then it became a middle school in 67', then came back as Booker T HS in 2000. Brandon Harris of the Texans went there, as did Antonio Dixon (DT for the Eagles). Larry Little (Hall of Fame) played at Booker T back in the old school days.
Northwestern - Blue and yellow. The Bulls. The standard for Miami football over the last couple years; last year, 6h best team in Miami though, as Columbus and Belen were better - Belen beat MNW, but MNW did beat Columbus. An impressive alumni list (beyond athletes too) that has Melvin Bratton, Marvin Jones, Brett Perriman, Antonio Bryant, Vernon Carey, Tony Martin (former WR), and a bunch more NFL players, and Mickey Rivers of the New York Yankees.

Thanks, good stuff...Nothwestern was the Miami school I remember getting most of the pub a some years back when they traveled to TX and beat SLC. Also remember Central having a dynamic QB a few yrs back (Godfrey? / Goodman? G - something) Some serious talent spread out across those Miami schools though. Personally, So. Fla football is my favorite HS ball to watch in the entire country. I feel like on any given year one of those teams can be a giant. If these squads were all in the same league and played each other every year, it would be the toughest league in the country. As is, they see each other enough to cause some exciting games.
