2012 schedules are slowly trickling in.

Melissa. Last year, Melissa scheduled all 3A schools in non-district to get prepared for their expected jump into class 3A. The focal point of that schedule was the match-up with Celina, which never happened. This season, the bout is rescheduled, with the Cardinals carrying around a state championship trophy and a promotion to class 3A.

Melissa's non-district line-up: Celina, Van Alstyne, Gunter, Farmersville, Paris, and Prime Prep. Three of those schools are in class 2A. Melissa will then go on to play Princeton, Bonham, Community, and neighboring Anna. The Anna rivalry has suddenly become a lot bigger.

Lone Star has released their 2012 opponents. They chose not to challenge any Frisco ISD teams this realignment. The Rangers won't even play any other non-district games againt Collin County schools.

Lone Star's 2012 opponents: Trinity Christian, Chisolm Trail, Aubrey, and Ranchview. Aubrey and Ranchview are in the same district as Lone Star and Celina.

Celina is still working on their schedule.
Thus far: Melissa, Liberty-Eylau, Liberty Christian, Roosevelt(DISD), and Crandall.
Celina and Lone Star will also have games with Argyle.
Full schedules will be completed shortly, and we will hear from Anna, Princeton, and Community.

Community has released their their schedule and one of two things stand out. Farmersville is not on the schedule and the Braves have a Saturday and a Thursday game. It is very rare for Community to play a school from a multi-campus district. But there are many urban school districts with 3A schools.

I don't have the schedule with me now, but I know the Braves start at home with a game with Leonard. They then have road game on Thursday night with Diamond-Hill Jarvis which is in East Ft. Worth. There are also games with Rains, Quinlan Ford, and Caddo Mills. Somewhere in there is a game on Saturday at Standridge against Ranchview, a Valley Ranch school. And, then of course the district games are Anna, Bonham,Melissa, and Princeton, not in that order but Princeton is last. It's not a brutal schedule but there are some very tough teams on that list. You only have to win 2.

Princeton didn't make it past the 3A enrollment limit so they will continue to compete with much smaller schools, at least in district. The Panthers are starting out big as they take on a 4A school from just down from them 380. I do believe this is the first time Princeton and Greenville have met in football. In week 1, another football program out of Valley Ranch will visit Princeton for a game between 2 3A schools. The smallest school on the schedule is Commerce, who was just dropped to class 2A, but could very well compete with most 3A teams. The Panthers then will have games on the road in Dallas against Samuel(4A) and then a long trip to Bridgeport(3A). Most teams in class 3A have only 4 district games schedules so there will be a scramble to find week 6 games. They didn't have to look too hard since Wills Point was looking for a game that week too.
And for the district contests, Princeton will still compete against Community, but will now face Anna and Bonham. Nov. 2 will be the biggest game for the Panthers as they will travel to play the defending class 2A-Div. I Champions Melissa Cardinals.

The Anna Coyotes will start out with Life Oak Cliff there. They host Aubrey and now 2A Van Alstyne. The Pack will travel to Pottsboro and then come home to play Lone Star for what should be Homecoming. They will make the trip south of Dallas to play Ferris for the final non-district game. They will play Community, Bonham, and Princeton before they finish off with the big rivalry game with Melissa. But not in that order.

Celina finally filled the last hole in their schedule. And they did this just in time before their legendery coach steps down. The first game of the season will be a mid-day game at the brand new stadium in Allen. The Bobcats will face the class 2A-Div. I champions Melissa Cardinals. Celina then has a home game against Crandall and then they have a game in Paris against Libery-Eylau. After much searching, Celina has found a team in to play, so in Yukon, OK(?), the Bobcats will play Perryton. For the final non-district contest, Roosevelt might possibly the Homecoming opponent this season. Back on the road, it's a trip to Standridge Stadium to play Ranchview for the first district game. Back home the Bobcats has a game against a very good, much improved Lone Star team. The last road game is in Aubrey, who has lost a coaching legend as well. Senior night will be a big night as the Argyle Eagles come to town. 4 games in Celina and a blockbuster match-up at the start and the end of the regular season.

Melissa lost some of that greatness this year. They didn't have good showing at the 7-on-7. However, Lone Star and Community qualified.

Melissa did lose a lot of that greatess from last year. BUT don't be fooled because they did not look good in their first SQT this summer. They won the Celina SQT tournament last weekend. They are also in two 7 on 7 leagues. Mondays in Celina, and Tuesdays in the Collin County league against McKinney High, McKinney North, McKinney Boyd, and Princeton. They won't win the state 7 on 7 title again this year, and won't win the 3A REAL state title BUT once again don't be fooled by how they looked early in the summer. They have 5 starters back on offense and 5 starters back on defense. The birdcage was not left completely empty. The "small"running back from the title game is back and the kid that tight roped he sideline for a TD in that game are only juniors. This district will be decided between Princeton and Melissa. Not saying that Melisa will beat Princeton but they do have to come to Melissa this season. Not a great place to try to get a win.

PS: You said they did not have a good showing in the Prosper tournament but Community only beat them by a TD in OT when the official said that the tying TD for Melissa was over the 4 second alotment. So if Community won the tournament like I was told, and they barely beat Melissa, does that mean that Community had a showing just above what Melissa had?

I'm gonna love posting on here this season. Not as good as ********************, but it will be fun.

I don't see why Melissa won't win 7-on-7...yet, but winning the 3A state championship will be a tall order. I am glad to see Melissa in this district. I like to see some competetion rather than one team dominating the district and another struggling to even get on the scoreboard.
By the way, this board does get better as we get closer to 2 - a- days. For small school information, I still prefer this site. I'm happy to have someone from Melissa on here to keep us informed. There is also a guy from Anna on here. The posters from Lovejoy and Farmersville have done moved on, but I follow Community and there are several Celina posters on here. The game of the year will be played in Allen when you guys play Celina. And maybe I will see you at the Community game.

Upon further inspection, I have come to the conclusion that Lone Star is not located in Collin County. The 3A schools remaining are Anna, Celina, Community, Melissa, and Princeton.
