Bo Talkington comes back to Overton.
"Arthur "Bo" Talkington was offered the head football coaching position at Overton High School on Monday night, and accepted the job according to superintendent Allen Umholtz.
The school board voted 4-3 to offer Talkington the job he once held from 1981-1988.
During that time, Talkington compiled an overall record of 63-20-1 with the Mustangs, including three seasons with 10-wins or more (12-1 in 1983, 10-1 in 1984, and 11-1 in 1988).
Talkington left Overton to become head football coach at Rains where he stayed from 1989-1993, and he's also been a head coach at Fredericksburg, Alba-Golden, and Detroit. He has recently been in the oil business.
Talkington replaces Ty Robinson who retired from coaching after the 2009 season when the Mustangs finished 3-7. Robinson remains as a member of the faculty staff at Overton High School."

CLYDE NARROWS COACHING SEARCH.
"Clyde ISD has narrowed its search for a new football coach/athletic director to eight finalists, all of whom have now been interviewed for the position.
More than 160 applicants sent in résumés for job, which became vacant after former coach David Ritchey resigned after the conclusion of the 2011 season.
No timetable for hiring a new coach has been set, but school administrators are hoping that the winning candidate will be on the job by mid to late February."

ANSON DOWN TO A DOZEN FINALISTS.
"Anson ISD is hoping to name a replacement for former head football coach Cameron Cox by Jan. 19, after narrowing a field of nearly 120 applicants to a dozen.
The 23-year-old Cox, who was relieved of the position following the 2011 season, finished 0-10 in his only year at the helm.
Anson Superintendant Jay Baccus did not release the names of the finalists, but did point out that they range from the Class 1A through the Class 4A levels, and that some of the names would be familiar to football fans in the area."
