Gibbs was District 9-4A's second-leading rusher with 973 yards before Friday. He scored two touchdowns to keep Northwest (6-2, 3-2 district) in playoff contention and keep McKinney North winless (0-8, 0-5).

Northwest quarterback Chad Cloud overcame a shaky start, completing six straight passes at one point and finishing with 251 yards.

Sophomore quarterback Eric Herbel directed McKinney North's two touchdown drives in his first varsity action of the season.

Next week, Hebron (8-0, 5-0) comes to Justin Northwest (3-2, 6-2) in a must-win game for the Texans to keep their playoff hopes alive.
