As coaches we have to keep up on current research in the fitness industry. The day we think we know everything is the day we regress as coaches. Research published daily often debunks previous beliefs or standards.
We are doing our athletes and ourselves a disservice by not keeping up with it.
I think of it as a toolbox. The more tools I have the better off I am in my training. Carve out time in your day to educate yourself.
After a while it becomes habitual and your mind craves knowledge. Read material, watch videos, and attend seminars or clinics. Once you have acquired at plethora of knowledge you can sprinkle it in your programs as you see fit.
