Former Baylor Football Signees Johnson, Bowen Find New Homes

Junior receiver Chris Johnson has obtained his official release from Baylor, according to a Baylor athletic department spokesman.

Johnson plans to graduate from Baylor this summer and transfer to the University of Houston, according to Bryan coach Ross Rogers. Ross coached Johnson in high school. As a graduate transfer, Johnson will gain immediate eligibility.

Former Baylor 2016 signee Brandon Bowen will sign with TCU, according to reports.

Baylor recently granted Bowen a release from his National Letter of Intent. The defensive end from Trophy Club Byron Nelson High School is the 11th signee from Baylor’s 22-player 2016 signing class to leave the program following the May 26 firing of coach Art Briles.
