The University of Texas will be receiving much needed help on special teams off the foot of former LSU kicker Trent Domingue. As a graduate transfer Domingue will be immediately eligible to suit up for the Texas Longhorns this fall.

Domingue took to twitter earlier this month to announce his transfer to the University of Texas where he will be seeking a graduate’s degree in advertising after receiving a general business degree from LSU.

Domingue was a Lou Groza Award semi-finalist last year after booting 13 successful field goals out of his 17 attempts and had a streak of 10 made field goals. The former walk-on finished 49-of-50 in PATs, stringing together 42 consecutive extra points, the eighth-longest in LSU history. He has made 55 of 56 extra points in his career.

“We’re obviously thrilled that Trent decided to join our program,” Coach Strong said. “What a great addition in a critical position of need for us. Trent’s an experienced and proven kicker who has had a great deal of success at the highest level and competed in pressure situations. He’ll be a strong leader on our special teams, and we look forward to getting him on campus.”

After the departure of Nick Rose to graduation, Domingue adds a much needed veteran presence for the Texas Longhorns in the kicking game department.
