Every week, TexasHSFootball.com will present their official game ball honors to those that were the most impactful under the Friday Night Lights. Our experts watched numerous games and decided on the very best that Week Two had to offer.

Please post your own game ball honorees below or through our various social media channels. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on those who are suggested.

DeMareus Hosey (RB, Justin Northwest)

This kid has two games under his belt and is already approaching the 1,000 yard marker. Hosey scrambled for 406 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Northwest Texans’ comeback in a 56-46 win. He replaces Syrus Moore, who ran for 1,800 yards and 20 touchdowns last year. This could be the best offensive line in the state. — Kyle Spishock

Curtis Taylor III (WR, Fort Worth Brewer)

Fort Worth Brewer’s Curtis Taylor III saved his best for last. With the Bears down to the Weatherford Kangaroos 15-14 with 1:54 left in the 4th quarter Taylor caught a one handed pass from QB Carson Ingram to put his team ahead 21-15. Taylor wasn’t done. A dual threat on both sides of ball, Taylor made a game saving interception to end the game with .39 seconds left to stop Kangaroos QB Corbin Campbell in their tracks. — Marcus Henry

Nakia Watson (RB, Austin Westlake)

I know he’s a favorite of the site, but the hype is warranted. Best player I’m watching right now is Westlake’s Nakia Watson (193 rushing yards). The senior is consistently exciting and a force for the Chaps’ offense. – Steven Ryan

Andrew Fernandez (QB, El Paso Montwood), Tyreese Andrus (WR, El Paso Montwood)

The two senior stars for the Montwood Rams put up some big numbers in the 58-53 win over Midland High last Thursday. Fernandez finished the game 18 of 27 passing for 365 yards and eight touchdowns. Andrus, his favorite target, finished with eight catches for 253 yards and five scores of his own. They’ve been the catalysts for an explosive Rams offense averaging 64 points in its first two games and it doesn’t look like they’re going to be slowing down anytime soon. – Tony Venegas
