Borden County’s zone attack was dominant

If I had to compare Borden County’s attack to an NFL team, it would be the Dallas Cowboys. The Coyotes pound away with a lead blocker, a spread formation, and decisive running from Hunter Jones, Corbin Sumners, and a load of others. It’s a brutal style that forces the defense to have to defend both your speed and your power, and in the end, Jonesboro just couldn’t do both. The Eagles weren’t truly outmatched in either speed or power, but defending both was a task that they just couldn’t do for the duration of the game.

The Coyote defense can howl at the moon tonight, because it won the game for Borden County.

Jonesboro was just overwhelmed, especially at the point of attack, by the Borden County defense. I don’t think that the Eagles truly had an answer for the Coyote quickness, especially in the interior of the lines where the Eagles seemed to live.

It was Borden County’s game to win on the lines, and they took advantage of it in a huge way.

Give Jonesboro their credit, they are tough

Towards the end of any game, especially against a team as huge as Borden County, it’s easy to be missing tackles and not play with effort. If a tackle was missed by Jonesboro, it wasn’t due to a lack of effort. The Eagles were well-conditioned and fought hard all night until the bitter end.

A slow start, and a fast finish

Borden County didn’t get off to the best of starts against Jonesboro. The Coyotes were hamstrung by early penalties, but still finished out well. Their combination of size and speed was simply overwhelming, as they simply kept swinging their sledgehammer late in the game.
