Morales has missed four full seasons with injuries, so it’s not exactly an unprecedented decision. The super-super-super senior is part of 5 offensive linemen who started at least one game that will return to Texas Tech in 2017.

Morales missed all of his first four seasons at Texas Tech, making his first start last year as a fifth-year senior. He’s started all 8 games for Texas Tech as a sixth-year senior. The Arlington native will be a huge part of a offensive line that will look to be the anchor of the explosive Texas Tech offense in 2017.

If Patrick Mahomes returns for his senior year, the Texas Tech offense will be humming on all cylinders again. Texas Tech’s offensive line has struggled this year, and will benefit from Morales’s presence.
