1. Oklahoma (2-0)

The Sooners have a better win on their resume than anyone else in the country right now, after beating Ohio State 31-16 in Columbus. They have established themselves as the Big 12 favorite moving forward.

The Pokes beat up on another weak non-conference opponent. Their next game is at Pitt, where they will be favored. Still, it’s quite the road trip and another big win would be impressive heading into conference play.

3. TCU (2-0)

In a game that was sloppy from start to finish, the Horned Frogs came away with a relatively impressive 28-7 win over Arkansas on the road. The TCU offense looked mediocre, but their defense was suffocating for the second straight week.

4. West Virginia (1-1)

The Mountaineers rebounded from a tough week one loss to Virginia Tech by whooping East Carolina 56-20. Quarterback Will Grier tossed five touchdowns and looked impressive.

5. Kansas State (2-0)

The Wildcats beat up on another cupcake non-conference opponent, topping Charlotte 55-7. Next, they travel to Vanderbilt to end their non-conference slate with a bit of a road test.

6. Texas (1-1)

Tom Herman and the Longhorns rebounded after a disappointing week one loss, pitching a 56-0 shutout against San Jose State. Texas travels to The Coliseum next week to take on the USC Trojans, who looked the part of a College Football Playoff contender in their 42-24 win over Stanford this weekend.

7. Texas Tech (1-0)

Texas Tech had an early season bye week. They face Arizona State at home and Houston on the road to close out their non-conference schedule the next two weeks.

8. Iowa State (1-1)

The Cyclones’ bowl hopes took a bit of a hit as they fell to in-state rival Iowa in overtime. Iowa State blew a 10-point fourth quarter lead after scoring 21 unanswered points in the second half.

9. Kansas (1-1)

The Jayhawks fell to Central Michigan and take on Ohio before entering Big 12 play.

10. Baylor (0-2)

Baylor gave Liberty its first win over a Power 5 conference school last week, and this week UTSA accomplished the same feat against the Bears. With a road trip to Duke coming up, Baylor will likely enter Big 12 play seeking its first win.
