1. Jalen Preston, 6-2, 202, 4-star ATH, Manvel (Manvel,TX)
A dangerous wide receiver and return man, Preston sets the tone for this class. His elusiveness and size help propel him to the top, and he’s very reminiscent of Amari Cooper with his clean routes and sure hands.

2. Darrell Simpson, 6-7, 330, 4-star OT, Northwest (Justin, TX)
As of now, most recruiting databases have Simpson rated as a 4-star prospect, and peg him somewhere within the top 10 players in the state of Texas. Give him a year and this guy will rise to the top five. His size, length and power are unparalleled, making him one of the best offensive line prospects in the nation. He’s agile and mobile for his size, running a 5.14 in the shuttle (courtesy of hudl.com).

3. BJ Foster, 6-1, 188, 5-star S, Angleton (Angleton, TX)

A true 5-star, Foster is your ideal safety. He’s instinctive and a ball hawk. He has great size, and by the time he hits senior year he should fill out well. Foster makes receivers aware of where they are when they come across the middle.

4. Anthony Cook, 6-1, 168, 5-star, Lamar (Houston, TX)
If Foster is the ideal safety, Cook is your ideal corner. Another 5-star out of Houston, he has burning speed to defend the deep ball and can step in the box to make a tackle. He jams every receiver he faces at the line, and just bullies them till the whistle.

5. Max Wright, 6-4.5, 260, 4-star SDE, Taylor (Katy, TX)
Wright brings the tenacity and sets the standard for defensive ends in the Class Of 2018. He’s already the perfect size for an edge rusher, and when you combine that with his strength he always finds a way in the backfield. He seems to be a strong lean towards UT.

6. Malcolm Epps, 6-6, 214, 4-star TE, Dekaney (Houston, TX)
The Alabama commit may be the next OJ Howard for the Tide. Epps is like a block of granite that can be sculpted into the prototypical tight end. A bit on the leaner side, Epps needs to continue filling out to be a great blocker at the next level. What puts him this high on the list is his ability to make a play on the ball and be a threat in the end zone.

7. Calvin Avery, 6-4, 302, 4-star DT, Bishop Dunne (Dallas, TX)
Linemen are a hot commodity, and this kid could be as highly sought after as 2017 DT Marvin Wilson. Avery had great size as a junior with a lot of room to grow. He has a quick first step and grown man strength.

8. Caden Sterns, 6-1, 173, 4-star S, Steele (Cibolo, TX)
As a sophomore, Sterns was a second-team all-district safety and dynamic playmaker at Steele. He’s constantly around the ball, wherever it may be. Sterns can lay the lumber to ball carriers and patrol the field just as good as anyone defensive back in this class. He’s electric and a leader on the field.

9. Jalen Green, 6-1.5, 170, 4-star CB, Heights (Houston, TX)

Although he’s listed at 6’1.5”, he’s closer to 6’2”, and it shows on the field. He shuts down receivers with his reach, and is an absolute bully out on the field. He just tosses receivers around. He has a great vertical that allows him to make a play on the ball.

10. Keondre Coburn, 6-1, 326, 4-Star DT, Westfield (Houston, TX)

Coburn is a brick house, short and simple. Standing at 6’1”, he occupies a lot of space up front with his 326 pound frame. He moves extremely well for a big guy, and his ability to stop the run is unparalleled.

11. Mustapha Muhammad, 6-5, 225, 4-Star TE, Ridge Point (Missouri City)
The size, the speed, and aggression make him an easy top five player for me. He can flex out and make plays in a spread offense, as well as block up front. It’s scary to think that one day he could be a 250 pound monster.

12. Al’vonte Woodard, 6-1, 182, 4-Star WR, Lamar (Houston, TX)
He’ll go up and fight for any ball, against any corner. A nightmare matchup for any corner in man coverage, Woodard runs the cleanest routes I’ve seen next to Class of 2017 receiver Jerry Jeudy, from Deerfield Beach, Fla.

13. Craig Williams, 5-9, 166, 4-Star APB, Crosby (Crosby, TX)
At 5’9”, Williams doesn’t stand tall amongst his peers, but his diminutive size isn’t a deterrent. He’s super shifty and incredibly elusive. He has sure hands and can be deadly weapon in the return game. His vision is also top-notch.

14. Alston Orji, 6-2, 214, 4-Star ILB, Rockwell (Rockwell, TX)
Orji’s stock has risen greatly in the last few months, and rightfully so. He’s already has great size for a junior linebacker and great on-field instinct. If he isn’t making a play, he’s around the play. A total field general on the defensive side.

15. Brennan Eagles, 6-3.5, 202, 4-Star WR, Alief Taylor (Houston, TX)
Tall and strong, Eagles is a tough matchup for any defensive back. He’s deadly fast, running a 4.43 40-yard-dash. Once he matures a little, he’ll be a perfect number one target for any college QB.

16. Stanley Hackett, 6-3, 193, 4-Star RB, Sam Rayburn (Pasadena, TX)
Another guy whose stock is on the rise, Hackett is committed to Texas Tech. The big back has great feet for a taller rusher. He’s very reminiscent of Le’Veon Bell, thanks to the height and poised footwork.

17. Montel Parker, 6-2, 176, 4-Star WR, Dickinson (Dickinson, TX)
Parker runs clean routes, and when you pair that with his solid hands, he’s a four-star standout. He’s great at racking yards up after the catch. Parker is good at moving the chains, but he’s also a deep threat.

18. Barton Clement, 6-2, 304, 4-Star OG, Fort Bend Marshall (Missouri City, TX)
Clement is a compact guard, at 6’2”, but he makes up for it with agility and speed that helps when he pulls to make room for any running back. He looks to put every defender in the dirt on every single snap.

19. Spencer Saunders, 6-2, 190, 4-Star Dual-Threat QB, Ryan (Denton, TX)
Saunders’ game is very reminiscent to current Alabama freshman, Jalen Hurts (Channelview, TX). He’s got a laser arm and shifty hips. He needs to work on his poise, but he’s a great scrambler.

20. Quandree White, 5-10, 165, 4-Star ATH, College Station HS (College Station)
White is the epitome of an athlete. He doesn’t let his size deter him from making big plays. His motor is high, and he’s a playmaker on both sides of the ball. He’s also instinctive and smart for a young player. White could be a big hometown grab for the Aggies.
