Rockdale at Little River Academy

The Academy defense will have their hands full with Rockdale dual threat quarterback Torry Locklin. Locklin has passed for 458 yards and two touchdowns this season, but where he is most effective is on the ground. The senior has 51 carries, 342 yards, and four touchdowns to go with averaging nearly seven yards a carry.

The Bumblebees will need to swarm to the ball and put some points on the board. The most points the Academy offense has put up this season is 17, in a 36-17 loss to Whitney.

Franklin at Cameron Yoe

This matchup is intriguing because both teams have losses to 4A programs and we really don’tknow who these guys are halfway through the season. Cameron is off to the worst start in a very long time at 1-4 and have dropped four in a row.

Franklin is currently 3-2, with a key victory over Lorena 27-26. The Yoemen dropped their district opener last week to McGregor 31-25 and will be looking to avoid an 0-2 district start, while Franklin will be looking to improve to 2-0 in district play.

Last Meeting (2016): Cameron Yoe 42, Franklin 38

Elkhart at West

This battle of 3-1 teams will be won by the team who can stop the running game. The Elks are averaging 300 rushing yards per game with 16 rushing touchdowns and over 1,200 total rushing yards on the season. The Trojans are averaging 207.5 rushing yards per game with 12 rushing touchdowns and 830 total rushing yards on the season.

These teams are almost identical, in their three wins West averaged 44 points per game, but in their loss to Mart they were held to 12 points. Elkhart averaged 38 points per game in their three victories, but were held to seven points in a loss to Troup.

Last Meeting (2016): West 23, Elkhart 16

Hico at De Leon

After coming off an impressive 38-18 victory on the road against Crawford last week, De Leon is no longer under the radar. The Bearcats are currently 5-0 and all the key pieces to make a run come playoffs. Quarterback and safety Kevin Yeager is remarkable and can make plays all over the field.

Running back Anthony Rangel has big play abilities as well and can hide behind the offensive line and burst long runs at anytime. The Hico defense will need to bring their A game in order to slow down the Bearcats quick strike offense.
Last Meeting (2016): Hico 34, De Leon 32

A&M Consolidated at Temple

A&M Consolidated is currently 5-0, 1-0 in district, but last week the Tigers struggled at home with Waco High, before securing the victory 35-31. Temple is sitting at 3-2, 1-0 in district, with losses to Waco Midway and Round Rock Cedar Ridge. Temple is currently averaging 40 points per game and their defense has forced 5 turnovers. A&M Consolidated is currently averaging 39 points per game and their defense has forced 12 turnovers.

The Tigers quarter Caden Fedora is 78-for-114, 1,134 yards, and 10 touchdowns on the season and has a number of playmakers to turn to, with five players with rushing touchdowns on the season and six players with receiving touchdowns. The Wildcats are very balanced on offense lead by QB TJ Rumfield who is 50-83, 827 yards, and 10 touchdowns. Temple also has 4 players who have rushed for touchdowns on the season and WR Xavier Johnson has hauled in 8 receiving touchdowns.

Last Meeting (2016): Temple 34 A&M Consolidated 22
