Former Allen RB Brock Sturges commits to Texas State

After leaving Arizona State in 2018 and playing the 2019 season at Butler Community College, Brock Sturges announced on Monday that he was committing to play football at Texas State University in San Marcos via twitter:

The 5-foot-10 running back out of Allen, was the first to commit to Arizona State in the 2018 class. After missing 11 days in the middle of ASUā€™s preseason camp for undisclosed reasons, the Sun Devils cut ties with the 2018 No. 29 running back prospect in Texas.

Sturges appeared in 11 games with Butler Community College, where he totaled 1089 yards on 210 rushes. Sturgess scored nine touchdowns for the Grizzlies and averaged about 99 yards per game.

According to a  247sports.com scouting report evaluation, Sturges ā€œruns with quick feet and good balanceā€ as he breaks through arm tackles and finds the hole.

Sturges was a 3-star recruit in high school and earned first-team all-district honors as a junior.

Texas State fans have already expressed their excitement over news of Sturgesā€™ commitment:
