10-6A Has A Lot Of Skill, But We Think One Rises Above The Rest

This is Sachse’s district and everyone else will simply be fighting for second best. The Mustangs return a small army of high-level talent that cruised through its regular season and district slate unblemished before falling to The Woodlands in the playoffs.

A handful of programs around the district are trending upwards, but with talent such as Mississippi State commit Jalen Mayden, Penn State commit Isaiah Humphries and Division I-bound Drue Jackson headlining  a stacked roster, it will be a surprise if Sachse doesn’t have it’s way in District 10-6A once again.

Prediction: Sachse

Tony Venegas

This district has a lot of intrigue to it. Sachse finished the regular season undefeated and won the title last year and are poised to be strong again this year. Rowlett was strong as well and Garland Lakeview Centennial and Naaman Forest each showed some major improvement.

That being said, I do like Sachse to come out on top of this district. The offensive side of the ball is loaded with Mississippi State-commit Jalen Mayden under center along with and receiver Drue Jackson leading the way. On defense, Isaiah Humphries is a strong talent and I’m really excited to see district sophomore of the year Hunter Spears continue to develop at defensive end.

Predicition: Sachse

Sasche can once again be expected to be the first place representative of the 10-6A district. The senior triumvirate of Jalen Mayden, Isiah Humphries and Drue Jackson put Sasche in a slightly higher seat than district challenger Rowlett.

As great of a program as Rowlett is, I find that Sasche will be even more dangerous especially after an early second round exit to The Woodlands following their undefeated regular season.

Garland Lakeview Centennial will be an interesting program to watch as well as they are looking for back-to-back playoff appearances following their historic season last year.

Prediction: Sachse

Hunter Cooke

A few months ago, I said that Sachse would be a dark horse title contender, and I’m sticking to that prediction.

They don’t lose a lot from last year’s 11-1 squad, and while the rest of their district has some very talented players, I don’t think there’s anyone that will be able to stand up to the powerhouse. Their biggest loss was Jay Northcutt, their former Offensive Coordinator who left the program to become the head coach at Wolfforth Frenship. With that level of continuity coming back, even with the talent level of the rest of their district rising, I like Sachse a lot.

Prediction: Sachse
