Anna Coyotes
Head Coach: Seth Parr (4th season; 35-5 record)
Last Season: 15-1; 5-0 in district (Defeated Chapel Hill in 4A Division I State Title Game)
Anna Key Players and Storylines
Anna is coming off its first state title in school history. The Coyotes earned it in dominant fashion too, shutting out Chapel Hill 26-0 in last year’s 4A Division I State Title Game.
But now, they’ll have a new test. The Coyotes will play 5A football for the first time ever, joining a stacked 5A Division II district that includes Melissa, Lovejoy, and Frisco Emerson.
The good news is the Coyotes have the playmakers to make a splash even with the jump in classification. Junior quarterback Ziondre Williams is a dual threat gunslinger (2,930 passing yards, 844 rushing yards, and 47 touchdowns). He also has a great one-two punch alongside him with senior running backs Edward Chumley (1,069 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns) and George Rogers (462 rushing yards and four touchdowns).
Ziondre Williams(Anna) accumulated 3,774 total yards in 2023, finishing Top-35 in Texas. The 2026 ATH threw for 2,930 passing yards and ran for 844 rushing yards, accounting for 47 total TDs on the season. #NextLevelAthlete #TXHSFB @ZiondreWilliams @8_parr pic.twitter.com/3oBzht7Gef

Out at receiver, the Coyotes got a big transfer in Louisiana Tech commit Ashton Ansley (689 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns), who moves in from Tomball Memorial. He’s got great size at six-foot-four. The speed in this receiving core will come from Ronald Bell (526 receiving yards and seven touchdowns). He’s also a threat in the return game.
Defensively, Anna has a solid group of seniors to replace from last year’s team. SMU commit Zay Gentry (41 tackles, two interceptions) will be the Coyotes’ lockdown corner. He’ll be joined by another Division I prospect at defensive back in Cordial Vann (27 tackles, one interception), who transferred in from Frisco Heritage.
Linebacker Cash Williams had a strong sophomore season a year ago. He’ll look to build on that this season.
The Coyote offense has the firepower to cause problems at the 5A level. Now, they’ll just need some fresh faces to step in defensively as they look to try and make a run in a crowded 5A Division II.
