We know you have read this before, but Katy (Texas) did not allow any points Friday.
Ranked No. 8 in the Super 25, Katy posted its ninth shutout of the season with a 66-0 domination of Friendswood in the a 6A-II region semifinal in Houston.
“I expect them to play well,” coach Gary Joseph said afterward, and with good reason.
Katy has posted shutouts in six of its last seven games and outscored its opponents by a total of 671-38 in 13 games. Twenty of those points allowed came last week against Cypress Ranch, so that is 18 points allowed in 12 games.
Friday, Katy allowed just 38 yards and three first downs in the first half. By game’s end, Friendswood had just 91 yards. The defense sacked Friendswood QB Tyler Page eight times.
