3 Girls Playing Football In the Dallas Fort Worth Area

Girl power is in full swing in the Fort Worth area as three young women are suiting up and playing high school football.  Morgan Senior is a lineman for the Mansfield Timberwolves. Chelsea Calderon is playing for Fort Worth Paschal and Alana Meggison is playing for Colleyville Covenant.

Morgan Senior is a lineman in her third year of JV football at Mansfield.  A Lacrosse player from New Jersey, when she moved to Texas she decided to play football.  While there have been countless girls that have played high school football, Morgan has played with the Mansfield team longer than any young woman has at the school.

Typically, when we see girls playing high school football, we see them at positions like kicker or wide-receiver.   We’ve seen varsity kickers the past few years, such as Tori Soland of Pantego Christian, Madi Martin of Southlake Carroll, and Reilly Fox from Paschal.  It is unusual to see an offensive guard, but that is what Morgan Senior plays, and she can more than hold her own.  It is her fourth year playing organized football, and third at Mansfield.  Don’t be surprised if we see her playing varsity ball next year or sometime this year.
