A three-star prospect, Taylor originally planned on shutting his recruitment down on June 11, but later announced that he was changing his decision date; news that surfaced after Taylor wasn’t offered at the Longhorns first minicamp this summer.
Whether he was waiting for that Texas offer to come or not, Taylor went ahead and pulled the trigger on Sunday with his pledge to the Bears, giving Baylor yet another high-upside prospect to build around in the future.
As a junior, Taylor produced as a tight end, as well as out of the backfield. In addition to hauling in 18 receptions for 377 yards and fur touchdowns, Taylor also carried the ball 54 times for 545 yards and 10 scores.
With Taylor on board, Rhule’s 2018 class is now up to 15 total members, ranking No. 12 nationally and No. 2 in the Big 12.
A 6’7, 221-pound prospect, Taylor ranks as the nation’s No. 583 player, No. 23 tight end and the No. 73 player in Texas, per 247Sports Composite.
