Highlights
Shawn Robinson is lethal—The Denton Guyer transfer played his first game in a Desoto Eagles jersey. Needless to say, it went well. The four-star, TCU commit threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, Robinson ran for 91 yards and two touchdowns as well. Next week, Desoto plays Robinson’s former team—Denton Guyer—at Eagles Stadium. That’s one you won’t want to miss.
Arlington Martin routs Dallas Skyline—This was expected to be a much closer matchup. But when it comes to high school football, you just never know. The Warriors moved up to the No. 16 spot while Skyline fell out of the Top 25. The Warriors forced an impeccable six turnovers from Skyline and outscored the Raiders 36-0 by the end of the third.
Euless Trinity and Allen save Texas’ honor—After a 44-14 thumping in the Bishop Gorman and Cedar Hill game, two Texas teams still managed to get victories over out-of-state opponents—Trinity and Allen. The Trojans comfortably beat Broken Arrow (OK) 39-16 behind the arm of Malini Maile. The Trojans quarterback threw three touchdowns despite only completing five passes. For Allen, the Eagles defeated a stout Hoover (ALA) side 25-7. Not a bad start for the new Eagles head coach Terry Gambill.
