Temple ISD has officially named Chad President as the new head football coach at Temple High School, bringing home a former Wildcat to lead one of Texas’ most storied programs. President, a 2015 Temple graduate, takes over following Scott Stewart’s departure and is set to guide a team that finished 7-4 last season.
President’s journey to this role has been one of both personal and professional growth. As the starting quarterback in 2014, he led Temple to the Class 5A Division I state championship game, earning district offensive player of the year honors with over 3,000 total yards and 29 touchdowns. His standout high school career earned him a scholarship to the University of Tulsa, where he played quarterback before graduating with a degree in Exercise Sports Science in 2019.
After transitioning to coaching, President quickly built an impressive resume as an offensive coordinator. He spent three seasons leading Rockwall Heath’s offense from 2019 to 2022, then took the same role at Midway in 2023. In January 2024, he returned to Temple as offensive coordinator, helping the Wildcats maintain a high-powered attack. His offensive units consistently produced over 400 yards per game, with Temple averaging 50 points per game during the 2020 season.
Now stepping into the head coaching position, President brings familiarity with the program, a passion for his alma mater, and a proven track record of offensive success. Temple ISD’s athletic leadership expressed confidence in his ability to lead the program into the future, emphasizing his commitment to both player development and community involvement. With a strong returning roster and a coach who knows exactly what it means to wear a Temple Wildcat uniform, expectations are high for the next chapter of Temple football under Chad President.
