Highland Park Rolls Past Jesuit 42-14

Austin Roof Inspection

Highland Park quarterback Buck Randall and a ball-hawking defense powered the Scots to a 42-14 win over Jesuit on Friday night. Randall threw for 337 yards and four touchdowns, adding a 45-yard rushing score as Highland Park (2-1) scored on four straight first-half drives.

The first-quarter fireworks included Randall’s 26-yard touchdown to Case Messer, a 77-yard bomb to Cannon Bozman, and his own long run to make it 21-0. After Jesuit’s Beck Berry found Cade Kirby for an 11-yard score, Randall quickly answered with a 72-yard strike to Matthew White on third-and-19.

White was unstoppable, finishing with 233 all-purpose yards — 150 receiving and 83 rushing — while Bozman added 109 yards and a touchdown. Randall capped the night with a 14-yard pass to Charlie Olmstead in the fourth quarter.

Highland Park’s defense forced four interceptions, with Ronan Moreland grabbing two in the second half. Jesuit (0-3) struggled again offensively, totaling seven turnovers through three games.

Berry remained a bright spot, throwing for 193 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 116 yards and another score. The Rangers will look to regroup after a bye before facing Irving on Sept. 25.

Highland Park hosts Pulaski Academy next Friday, aiming to build on an explosive performance that showcased balance on both sides of the ball.
