Abernathy is staying in-house for its next head football coach and athletic director.
The Antelopes announced Tuesday that former offensive coordinator Keith Bloskas has been promoted to lead the program. He was approved by the school board and later met with Abernathy’s athletes.
Bloskas has spent five total years at Abernathy in his second stint with the school. He also brings experience from stops at Post and Ropes.
He takes over for Justin Wiley, who left for Hawley after nine seasons. Wiley posted a 45-25 record at Abernathy, and the Antelopes have now reached the playoffs 16 straight years.
Abernathy went 5-6 in 2025 and fell to West Texas 43-14 in the first round of the Class 2A Division I playoffs. Even so, the Antelopes have averaged 7.6 wins per season over the last five years.
