Rockwall-Heath Key Players and Storylines
When Rodney Webb retired this offseason, Rockwall-Heath wasted no time getting another big name in his place. Not only did Casey Dick shine as the quarterback at the University of Arkansas from 2005 to 2008, he also led Fayetteville (AR) High School to a 7A state title as a head coach in 2023.
Now, he’s ready to build Rockwall-Heath into a program that succeeds in November. The offense will have firepower with returning first team all-district quarterback Prosper Neal (2,018 passing yards; 575 rushing yards) and running back Carter Zahm (1,220 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns), who is a dynamic athlete even at 6’1” and 220 pounds. In the passing attack, seniors Christian Contreras and Aprince Hobbs are ready to step up and lead the receiving corps. The main question mark lies in the trenches where four of five starters from last season graduated.

Defensively, it’s the secondary that was hit hard by graduation with three of four starters gone. There are no such problems in the middle of the field. Middle linebacker Carson Adams (112 tackles, 32.5 TFLs) “is one of the best linebackers in the state”, while outside linebacker Landon Foster (42 tackles, six sacks) already has two years of starting experience under his belt. Up front, defensive tackle Elijah Smith (18 tackles, three TFLs) has the size at 6’3” and 320 pounds to clog up running lanes, while junior Jarrett Simpson (22 tackles) is an “explosive” defensive end.
Rockwall-Heath won a playoff game last year after missing out entirely in 2024. With key players back from that team, Dick believes that the Hawks will have what it takes to compete for one of the top spots in District 10-6A again this season.
