Tyler Legacy Key Players and Storylines
Tyler Legacy took some lumps a year ago. The Raiders finished winless in district play for the first time since 2016 and all six losses came by 21 points or more.
They’ll hope those lessons learned will pay off in 2026.
The good news is the offense returns a good amount of talent. Explosive receiver Takaiden Brown (534 receiving yards and six touchdowns) is a big-play threat, while tight end Von Lane is a big target at six-foot-five. Junior quarterback Cason Gray (1,351 passing yards and 15 touchdowns) and senior running back Pearl Jackson (681 rushing yards and three touchdowns) both are back after earning third team all-district honors last year.
However, even with all those skill players, the offensive line is where you find Tyler Legacy’s biggest talent. 6’5”, 300-pound tackle Demarrion Brown-Johnson is a four-star prospect who should be a mammoth in the trenches for the Raiders.

Defensively, Legacy desperately needs to take a step forward after giving up over 47 points per game last season. It will be up to some new faces to lead that charge with just two returning starters on that side of the ball.
Linebacker Amir Gaines will bring physicality to the middle of the field, while cornerback Dai’Sean Oliver has great speed in the secondary. Up front, senior nose guard Ethan Green will be one of the players Tyler Legacy looks to step up in the trenches.
The defense will take time to gel, so the Raiders will need their offense to hit the ground running. It will take a big jump for Tyler Legacy to get back into playoff contention, but the Raiders will hope to keep making progress in year four under Beau Trahan.
