Jersey Village Key Players and Storylines
It’s never easy replacing a legend. Jersey Village has finished 3-7 in both seasons after 27-year head coach David Snokhous retired.
However, Levelle Norris believes this year’s team has what it takes to turn the corner. The offense must improve upon the 12.5 points per game it averaged a year ago, but it has an X-factor at quarterback in promising junior Rodney Robinson. Norris said he’s the type of player that can give the Falcons a chance week in and week out.
The Falcons’ coaching staff also trusts “consistent” running back Angel Ortega to pace the ground game. Up front, 6’4”, 295-pound lineman Calvin Thigpen is a Division I prospect. He can play any spot up front, which will be big on a unit that doesn’t have a ton of experience.
Defensively, his twin brother Cael Thigpen, a University of Houston commit, is one of the best defensive ends in the entire state. Behind him, linebacker Micah Nelson always puts himself in a spot to make plays, while Trey Goodman is the quarterback of the defense from his safety position.

With an experienced defense eager to improve upon the 35 points they allowed per game last year and a livewire at quarterback in Robinson, there’s reason for optimism in the Village. Norris believes this group has what it takes to be in playoff contention down the stretch this fall.
