Summer Creek Key Players and Storylines

It has been three-straight seasons of December football for Summer Creek. Last year was the earliest exit of those three years for the Bulldogs as they came up just short to C.E. King, 24-21, in the regional final.

The Bulldogs are intent to play football well into the fall again this year. If they’re to do that, it’ll likely be because of an offense that averaged 50 points per game last season. Seven starters are back from that unit. Quarterback Noah Spinks has all the confidence in the world after throwing for 3,690 yards and 43 touchdowns in 2025.

6’1”, 195-pound senior Benny Easter (1,309 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns) will be his deep ball threat, while 5’10”, 175-pound senior receiver Larry Brown (531 receiving yards and two touchdowns) is a playmaker in the middle of the field. Bruising 6’0”, 205-pound running back Braylin Causey (949 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns) is back to lead the ground game alongside his counterpart Keyshawn Johnson.

Defensively, there’s not as much experience to talk about with just three returning starters. Defensive end Jaylen Howard (39 tackles, two TFLs) has the leadership and experience that will be vital on a defensive front that lacks depth heading into the year.

The secondary has quite the center fielder in free safety Savion James (86 tackles, two INTs), who is a three-star prospect. Cornerback Caleb White (21 tackles, five INTs) has both the athleticism and competitiveness needed to be comfortable on an island against other teams’ top receivers.

There’s no doubting the top end talent the Bulldogs have, but their staff said it’s all the “hard-working young men that play above their potential” is what makes this program special. They’ll need some of those players to step up again especially defensively as the Bulldogs set their sights on another run at a state title.
