Clear Brook Key Players and Storylines
Clear Brook suffered through its first winless season since 2001 last year, but the Wolverines do return 12 starters from that group. They’ll be eager to get that sour taste out of their mouths this fall.
They have two great leaders both on and off the field in the backfield in senior quarterback Samuel Alfred and sophomore running back Moziah Hayling, who shined with his versatility and athleticism a year ago. Up front, 6’2”, 277-pound guard/tackle Teodoro Garcia will be Clear Brook’s anchor in the trenches.
Defensively, head coach Patrick Sanders believes his front seven is poised to excel in defending the run. Defensive end Tristen Whitaker is a consistent presence up front. Behind him, linebacker Jordan Paquinto will be a mainstay in the middle of the field, while outside linebacker Rome Jordan is a threat off the edge. At the back end, expect Hayling to show off that aforementioned versatility at safety.

Sanders has loved the offseason work his team has put in. He believes that’ll pay off this year with a big improvement on the scoreboard after all of the Wolverines’ district losses a year ago came by 19 points or more.
