Richland Coach Accused of Improper Student Relationship

A Richland High School teacher and assistant coach has resigned amid allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student. North Richland Hills police are investigating, and Birdville ISD confirmed the educator no longer works for the district.

Published reporting identifies the educator as a former assistant football and girls’ softball coach who also played football at Richland. However, police and district statements do not publicly identify the individual under investigation.

Birdville ISD said it contacted police immediately after receiving the allegations. Additionally, the district reported the concern to appropriate authorities, including the Texas Education Agency.

“The safety and well-being of our students are always our highest priority,” the school stated in its message to families.

The district also asked families to respect the student’s privacy and avoid spreading unsubstantiated information.

Meanwhile, police said investigators are gathering evidence and conducting a thorough investigation. The department will release additional details as they become available.

The allegations remain under investigation. A resignation does not establish wrongdoing, and an investigation is not a finding of guilt.
