Westlake improved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in District 25-6A after following last week’s 57-0 shutout of Westwood with a 70-6 homecoming win over McNeil.
The Chaparrals wasted little time taking control. Holden Helms blocked a punt that Colton Fromberg recovered for a touchdown, and Freddie Tester followed with a fumble return for another score. Westlake led 35-0 after the first quarter.
Quarterback Patton Jones accounted for four touchdowns, rushing for two and throwing two to Braden Riddell. Eight different Chaparrals reached the end zone as Westlake finished with 353 total yards, including 249 rushing.
The Westlake defense held McNeil to 131 yards as the Mavericks fell to 0-8.
Westlake now turns to the Battle of the Lakes against Lake Travis, which enters after a 47-0 win over Stony Point.
