Maxpreps and Donjoy recently released a list composed of some of the best preseason high school football players in the nation for the 2016 season. The current list has 21 elite talents that make up the MaxPreps Preseason Offensive Large Schools All-Americans presented by DonJoy Performance.
11 of the 21 listed names have already committed to FBS programs which include Stanford, Ohio State, LSU, Alabama, and the University of Texas.
Of those 21 names there are three athletes hailing from the state of Texas with two of them already committed to programs.
Here is a look at the three Texas high school football players that made the national list.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 315 pounds, Ingram is part of an offense that may be one of the best in the state of Texas. DeSoto is rated as the No. 8 team in the country after finishing 6-6 last year. How is that possible? Well the team is absolutely loaded with talent and Ingram is one of the many athletes this year’s DeSoto squad has. Ingram has committed to LSU.
Ehlinger was not there with his Westlake team at the state seven-on-seven tournament. Ehlinger’s absence may have been a crucial point as to the why Westlake had a first round loss in the knockout round, but nonetheless, Austin Westlake will be a team to look out for this season with Ehlinger at the helm. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound quarterback is ranked No.6 in the nation as a dual-threat quarterback. He accounted for 5193 yards and 70 touchdowns for Westlake and is committed to Texas
Ranked at No. 18 in the nation for running backs, the senior running back accumulated 3522 rushing yards and 42 touchdowns. His 235 rushing yards per game average helped lead Mansfield to the 6A semifinals. Brooks is the only player yet to commit to a program and is still fielding recruitment offers.
