The Lone Star Rangers’ quarterback Jason Shelley has been committed to joining the Utah Utes next year, well now it looks like he will have a familiar face headed there with him. Jaylen Dixon, Lone Star’s leading receiver will be catching passes from Shelley for a few more years. Dixon announced on Twitter today that he has accepted the Utes’ scholarship offer.

Dixon is headed to Utah over Iowa State, Syracuse and in-state rival Utah State. Dixon leads the Rangers with 48 receptions for 561 yards and six touchdowns. The Rangers are currently 5-1 and tied with Wakeland for the top spot in District 13-5, who they just so happen to play this week.
Lone Star has a long road in front of them to the playoffs, especially with how stacked 5A is at every division. Fortunately, these two Utah-bound offensive skill position players are going to be an absolute problem for defenses deep into the playoffs.
