Vince Young Signs With The Saskatchewan Rough Riders

Around 12 years ago, Vince Young was the shining symbol of everything that was good and pure about football in Texas. Many in this state are not fans of the Texas Longhorns, but few can deny the majesty of the 2006 Rose Bowl game, or VY’s dominance.

In the NFL, Young had a short period of success followed by a fall from grace. His professional career was marred by inconsistency and injuries, and he never found a true home outside of the Tennessee Titans, where he went 30-17 as a starter.

After a few years out of football, Vince Young will be back, this time in the CFL. He signed with veteran agent Leigh Steinberg in February of 2017, and it was announced that he will sign with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders today.

No one truly knows what will happen to Vince Young in the future. He’s obviously a tremendous talent, but his history of injuries can be troublesome if he’s mulling an NFL comeback. Regardless, diehard Longhorns will once again be able to see one of their all time greats on the football field, even though the field is a little further north than normal.
