Burkhead spent the past four seasons in Cincinnati after he was drafted in the sixth round by the franchise. Burkhead only had one start with the Bengals, but appeared in 42 games as a gadget and special teams player. He’s carried the rock 87 times for 375 yards, which is a stellar 4.3 yards per carry. He also has three touchdowns.
Burkhead is the type of player that excels in New England – a jack of all trades that the Patriots can use to exploit defenses in several different manners. There’s little doubt that his role will be expanded very quickly.
