The top Texas recruit in the Class of 2018 (per 247 Sports) has not made his college decision, but he has committed to play in a showcase game. Houston Lamar CB Anthony Cook announced his commitment to play in the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Cook currently has 35 scholarship offers, including offers from the defending national champion in Clemson, LSU, Texas, and Ohio State among several others.

The rising senior cornerback burst on to the scene last season for the Texans as a first-team all-district selection. Cook was also part of a stingy defense that held teams to just under 13 points per game and snagged 18 interceptions as a team (4 by Cook).

The Texans finished 11-2 last year advancing to the 6A Division I regional semifinals before losing to Humble Atascocita. But with much of their defense returning, Cook and company will be looking to lead Houston Lamar on a run to the state title.
