Gilbert is currently a free agent, so the chances that he gets picked up just got much slimmer. He most recently played for the Steelers, and was selected in the first round of the 2014 draft by the Browns.
The longstanding rumor about Gilbert was that he wasn’t a particularly hard worker, and the critique from his teammates was that he didn’t really like the sport at all. There’s still a path back to the league for Gilbert, who definitely has the talent, it’s just a matter of if he takes it.
