The Mustangs got a solid one yesterday with the addition of Jimmy Phillips, an OLB/S out of Mesquite Poteet.

The Pirates went 5 rounds deep in the playoffs before falling to Aledo by a score of 38-14. They struggled a tad bit with an extremely difficult regular season early, dropping three games, one to Denton Ryan, one to Mansfield Lake Ridge, and the final one to Highland Park. All of those schools made the playoffs, and Highland Park won a state title.
SMU is on the rise, and this commit will help get them there. Phillips is an extremely good defender wherever he lines up, and will be a benefit wherever he goes.
