The Friday night lights could be shining from a television in your home next season. According to the Dallas Morning-News, part of the UIL’s meeting next Tuesday will be about the potential televising of high school football games.

Games can be shown on a tape delay one hour following the final whistle of play. Any game played on days that aren’t Friday can be televised, as well as playoff games owned by Fox Sports Southwest.

The biggest concern by state superindents and everyone across the Lone Star State involves the possibility of fans staying at home to watch games instead of showing up to the stadium. The UIL will also examine possible IOC performance enhancing drug policies, a venue change for the state basketball tournament, and proposals to add ice hockey, disc golf, and ping pong as sanctioned sports.
