Michael who has had stints with Seattle, Washington, Dallas and most recently Green Bay, was coming off a year in which he rushed for 583 yards and eight total touchdowns between Seattle and Green Bay. Since entering the league in 2013 via the Seattle Seahawks second-round pick, Michael has appeared in 37 games and rushed for 1,080 yards on 4.3 yards per carry.
The former Texas A&M and Beaumont West Brook runner saw his best year statistically playing for the two NFC contenders and was signed to bolster a crowded and ineffective Indianapolis rushing attack that finished 23rd in the league in yards per game this past season.
Indianapolis replaced Michael on the roster with former Jets and Seahawks running back Troymaine Pope.
