Texans’ Vince Wilfork To Retire

The longtime Patriots and Texans defensive tackle Vince Wilfork has announced his retirement on Twitter with a hilarious video.

The legacy Wilfork leaves on the game is unassailable.

He was voted to the Pro Bowl and was an All-Pro in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. He won Super Bowl rings in 2005, and 2015, and had two other trips to the Super Bowl (the Patriots lost twice to the Giants in Wilfork’s tenure).

He spent the previous two seasons with the Texans, notching a total of 43 tackles and no sacks during his time in Houston. During his time in New England, Vilfork was one of the games’s best, and his stats and Pro Bowls back that assertion up. The Texans didn’t get the production out of him that they maybe wanted, but there’s no doubt that there’s a hole to fill in Houston now.
