The dual-threat quarterback chose the Wildcats over offers Georgia State, Illinois, New Mexico and SMU among others. He is Commit No. 8 in the Class of 2018 for Kansas State and joins offensive lineman and teammate Christian Duffie and Arlington Martin defensive end Spencer Trussell as the three Lone Star State commits in the class.
The senior signal caller also has some family ties to Division I football with his older brother, Zarrian, who was a tight end at Illinois.
At 6-4 and nearly 230 pounds, Holcombe has proven himself to be one of the toughest players to take down in the backfield. His ability to stretch out plays with his legs as well as his throwing ability make him a focal point for head coach Brian Ford and the Bulldogs offense. He’ll try to lead the Bulldogs back to the postseason after just missing out in 2016.
Summer Creek opens their season at home on September 1 against Pasadena Dobie.
