Class 4A Regional Rankings (Week 6)

Texas HS Football Class 4A Regional Rankings
Week 6 – TXHSFB Plus+ Premium Content

Region I
  Team Rec
1 Aledo (4-0)
2 Denton Guyer (2-2)
3 Wolfforth Frenship (5-0)
4 WF Rider (3-1)
5 TC Nelson (3-1)
6 Granbury (4-0)
7 Lake Dallas (4-0)
8 Crowley (4-0)
9 Amarillo (2-3)
10 Canyon (4-0)
11 FW Southwest (3-1)
12 FW Dunbar (5-0)
13 Cleburne (4-0)
14 EP Eastlake (4-1)
15 Canyon Randall (4-1)

Watch List: Everman (3-1); Saginaw (3-2); EP Del Valle (3-2); FW South Hills (3-1); Wichita Falls (2-2); EP Bowie (4-0)
Analyzing The Region: While the current state of affairs for Region I remains in the hands of the Aledo Bearcats and Denton Guyer Wildcats, the door is open for a challenge from any number of key teams within the region. Wollforth Frenship, Wichita Falls Rider and Trophy Club Nelson appear to be the teams that are most likely to take a head on challenge and force the issue. But there are some very big sleepers on the horizon. Granbury, Lake Dallas and out west with EP Eastlake and EP Del Valle. The right match ups and the right atmosphere can change the scene in an instant.

Region II
  Team Rec
1 Whitehouse (5-0)
2 Mesquite Poteet (4-0)
3 South Oak Cliff (4-0)
4 Frisco Centennial (3-1)
5 Tyler John Tyler (3-2)
6 Ennis (4-0)
7 Highland Park (3-1)
8 The Colony (4-0)
9 Texas High (3-1)
10 Dallas Seagoville (4-0)
11 Frisco (3-1)
12 Dallas Carter (4-0)
13 Nacogdoches (3-1)
14 Wylie (2-2)
15 Mansfield Legacy (3-1)

Watch List: Hallsville (3-2); Lancaster (1-3); Carrollton Creekview (3-1); Prosper (2-2); Lucas Lovejoy (2-2); Mount Pleasant (2-2)
Analyzing The Region: Whitehouse and Mesquite Poteet are the top dogs in the region but both have some serious challenges ahead in district play with the Tyler John Tyler and Highland Park respectively. Much like in Region I, there are a few hungry teams lurking in the distnce and could steal the show. The depth of Region II is far greater than that of Region I and down the line, that could produce a solid regional playoff outlook.

Region III
  Team Rec
1 Humble Summer Creek (4-0)
2 Texas City (4-0)
3 Pearland Dawson (4-0)
4 FB Marshall (3-0)
5 Manor (5-0)
6 George Ranch (5-0)
7 Crosby (4-1)
8 Elgin (5-0)
9 Brenham (3-1)
10 Port Neches-Groves (3-1)
11 Montgomery (4-1)
12 Nederland (3-1)
13 Richmond Foster (3-1)
14 Georgetown East View (5-0)
15 FB Ridge Point (3-1)

Watch List: Georgetown (3-2); Dayton (3-2); Friendswood (3-1); Houston Reagan (3-1); Houston Waltrip (3-1)
Analyzing The Region: Region III is not a region in which there are any clear cut favorites and it houses a good number of programs that are more than capable of winning the state championship. After all, one state champion came from this region just a year ago. Expect Crosby to learn and grow from their loss to Humble Summer Creek and do not be surprised to see that team in the regional semis, yet alone the regional final. The winner of the Manor-Elgin contest will be team to be reckonded with, but the bull-eyes could gro much larger from within if either are not careful.

Region IV
  Team Rec
1 SA Brennan (5-0)
2 Cedar Park (4-1)
3 CC Calallen (4-0)
4 Leander Rouse (4-1)
5 SA Harlandale (4-0)
6 SA Alamo Heights (3-1)
7 CC Flour Bluff (3-1)
8 Port Lavaca Calhoun (4-1)
9 CC Ray (4-0)
10 Schertz Clemens (4-0)
11 Edcouch-Elsa (3-1)
12 Hays Consolidated (3-1)
13 Laredo Nixon (5-0)
14 SA Brackenridge (3-2)
15 Austin Vandegrift (3-2)

Watch List: CP Vista Ridge (3-2); Mission Memorial (3-1); Austin Travis (4-0); SA Memorial (3-1); Mission (2-1); Boerne Champion (3-1)
Analyzing The Region: Calallen made a major statement by shutting out Port Lavaca Calhoun by a 48-0 score, but the Wildcats are well aware of their past and the perception they carry with them. The Wildcats should be fine over the next few weeks, but down in the middle rounds of the playoffs. the action will heat up considerably. Teams like Boerne Champion, Alamo Heights and perhaps Cedar Park, depending on the draw, will be gunning for them.
