QB Chandler Morris thriving for No. 4 Highland Park

Dual-threat quarterback Chandler Morris is putting on a show for the Class 5A, Division I No. 4 Highland Park Scots since entering as a starter to follow in the footsteps of John Stephen Jones.

In just two years, Chandler has 7,668 passing yards and 88 touchdowns, while running for another 37 touchdowns along the way.

And he led the Scots to a state championship in 2018.

When asked about the most memorable and exciting moments in his two years as a varsity starter, Morris said, “The most exciting moment as a high school athlete would be winning a state championship with all of your teammates that you have been friends with for years.”

Looking ahead to the next phase of his football career, he is “ looking forward to the relationships I will build at the next level with new people.”

The four-star quarterback will certainly have his hands full in picking his college destination after already picking up 15 Division I offers.

Since decomitting from Arkansas, Morris is still undecided on where he will commit, but says that his top five schools right now are TCU, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, USC and Auburn in no particular order.

Senior season by the numbers:

Passing yards – 3,658

Touchdowns – 42

Rushing touchdowns – 17
