Killeen ISD football players take part in Army basic training at Fort Hood

Football is taken seriously in Texas, especially in Killeen.

While some coaches act like drill sergeants at times, the four schools that comprise Killeen ISD — Killeen, Shoemaker, Ellison and Harker Heights — literally undergoing basic training in preparation for the upcoming season at Fort Hood.

This is the fourth year Killeen ISD has taken part in the event, but this marks the first time all four of the schools have taken part.

Along with receiving basic training, the players race through obstacle courses and competitions along with learning the importance of teamwork from special guests  as the squads prepare for their upcoming spring football schedules.
