TCU safety Vernon Scott (Mansfield Summit) is headed to Green Bay after the Packers selected him in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Green Bay is coming off a 13-3 season and an appearance in the NFC Divisional Playoffs. Scott joins a roster with Aaron Jones (El Paso Burges), another former Texas High School Football star.
Scott had 44 tackles and seven pass breakups as a senior with the Horned Frogs.
He was a star at Summit and was ranked as the No. 11 safety prospect in Texas according to 247Sports.
Prior to Scott’s seventh round selection, the Arizona Cardinals took Arizona State running back Eno Benjamin with the 222nd overall pick and the Los Angeles Rams took Baylor linebacker Clay Johnston with the 234th overall pick.
