2022 Preseason Fan Vote Best RB in Texas
The fan vote poll for the preseason best running back in Texas was a battle between Rashaad Johnson of North Shore and Landen Chambers. They went back and forth, with Rashaad, the star running back of the 2021 6A D1 State Champion Mustangs, in the lead in the first few days. However, it was the fans of BYU that put Landen on top.
Chambers is a BYU commit, which he announced on Twitter:

The fan base of BYU was incredibly supportive of Chambers, with several Twitter accounts dedicated to BYU football sharing the poll and encouraging fans to vote for Chambers. There is no doubt that BYU is excited to have Chambers at running back for them in 2023.

Chambers was the 2021 4-6A Offensive MVP and an All-State player. The 6’0″ 205lbs running back ran for 1,757 yards and 25 touchdowns. He added 20 receptions for 216 yards and 2 touchdowns. Fossil Ridge improved on their 1-7 record from 2020 to go 4-6 in 2021. With Chambers looking to try to break past 2,000 yards rushing, the Panthers will try to get over .500 for the first time since 2018.
